About
Jamal Al Titi
Belarusian-born Canadian baritone Jamal Al Titi is an emerging artist whose warm, resonant timbre and charismatic stage presence have brought him to leading roles on Canadian and international stages.
This upcoming season, Jamal makes his company debuts with Edmonton Opera as Papageno (role debut) in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, and Orchestre symphonique de Montréal as Masetto in Mozart’s Don Giovanni, under the baton of Rafael Payare. He subsequently returns to Opéra de Montréal for the world premiere of ATYS in co-production with Ballet Opéra Pantomime.
A graduating member of Opéra de Montréal’s prestigious Atelier lyrique, he has appeared in performances of Pergolesi's La serva padrona as Uberto, Ravel's L’Enfant et les sortilèges as L’arbre and Le fauteuil, and in the title role of the world premiere of Jobidon's Le Phare, alongside performances of the works of Britten, Handel, and more. In the 25/26 season, he performed as Dancaïre in Bizet’s Carmen, where he impressed with a “magnificent timbre” (Olyrix), and “(stood out) for his energy and impressive vocal projection” (Ludwig Van Montréal). Jamal joined the Atelier after winning the Stingray Audience Choice Award at their 2024 Gala Talent.
In 2025, Jamal joined the International Meistersinger Academy in Germany, under the guidance of Edith Wiens, where he performed in opera gala concerts with the Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra, a German song recital, and a cabaret concert led by Craig Terry. At the academy, he received coachings from Professor Wiens and Tobias Truniger, and participated in masterclasses with distinguished guests including Thomas Laussmann, Marcelo Amaral and Brigitte Fassbaender. Earlier in the summer, he sang the title role in Gianni Schicchi at the Netherlands Lyric Opera Festival, conducted by Lochlan Brown and directed by Noah Naamat.
His operatic repertoire includes Belcore in L’Elisir d’Amore (Highlands Opera Studio), the title role in Don Giovanni (Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity/National Arts Centre Orchestra), as well as Schaunard and Marcello in La Bohème (Opéra de Montréal), Cascada in The Merry Widow (Brott Opera Festival), and Tom in Adoration (Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity).
