Jamal Al Titi
Belarusian-born Canadian baritone Jamal Al Titi is an emerging artist whose warm, resonant timbre and charismatic stage presence have brought him to leading roles on Canadian and international stages.

Jamal is currently a member of Opéra de Montréal’s Atelier lyrique program. In 2025, Jamal joined the International Meistersinger Academy in Germany, under the guidance of Edith Wiens, where he performed in opera gala concerts with the Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra, a German song recital, and a cabaret concert led by Craig Terry. At the academy, he received coachings from Professor Wiens and Tobias Truniger, and participated in masterclasses with distinguished guests including Thomas Laussmann, Marcelo Amaral and Brigitte Fassbaender. Earlier in the summer, he sang the title role in Gianni Schicchi at the Netherlands Lyric Opera Festival, conducted by Lochlan Brown and directed by Noah Naamat. That same year, he appeared in the Caramoor Schwab Vocal Rising Stars program and performed with the New York Festival of Songs, collaborating with Steven Blier and Bénédicte Jourdois. Concert highlights include Handel's Messiah with Orchestre Classique de Montréal and Bach’s St. Matthew Passion with the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony Orchestra and the Grand Philharmonic Choir.

During the 2024–2025 season, Jamal performed the title role in the world premiere of Le Phare, sang Uberto in La Serva Padrona, and took on the roles of Le fauteuil and L’arbre in L’Enfant et les sortilèges. At the Opéra de Montréal, he covered the roles of Figaro (Il barbiere di Siviglia) and Marcello (La Bohème). In the upcoming 2025–2026 season, he returns to the company as Dancaïro in Carmen.
Other festival and opera credits include the title role in Don Giovanni and Tom in Adoration at the Banff Centre’s Opera in the 21st Century, Belcore in L’elisir d’amore at Highlands Opera Studio, and Masetto and Schaunard in La Bohème and Cascada in The Merry Widow at the Brott Opera Festival.
​Jamal’s awards and honors include being a district winner (Colorado-Wyoming) of the Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition, winner of the 32nd National Lyric Audition Young Lyric Ambassadors Program (2025), Opera San Miguel Prize (2025), Rebanks Fellow in the prestigious Rebanks Family Fellowship (2023-2024), winner of the Stingray Audience Choice Award at the Opéra de Montréal’s Gala Talent (2024), the Rumbold Vocal Prize (2024), the Toronto Mozart Vocal Competition (2023), and many other prizes. He is also a third-prize winner in the 2025 National Capital Opera Competition and received the Young Audience Award in the 2025 Voice edition of the OSM Competition in Montréal.
